Chinese metallurgists were successfully pouring liquid cast iron into complex molds back in the 4th century BC, a full 1,800 years before European foundries managed to achieve the exact same high-temperature capability. This advanced industrial technology allowed for the mass production of farming tools, iron plows, and heavy weapons. It gave the Han Dynasty a massive economic and military advantage over its global rivals.
