The act of ending a relationship over text is reprehensible, and we must make it plain that we do not condone it. Respect the person and ask for a face-to-face meeting where you may express your thoughts and concerns. Either do that or skip town and never reach out to them ever again—your call.
It was a blessing in disguise that the recipient agreed with us and responded in the most amusing way conceivable. We hope the sender realized he had sent the text to the wrong person and contacted their soon-to-be-ex. You owe that to them and yourself to break things off in person.
