#37: Musings on a Cell Phone
Here’s an interesting question: someday in the future, when the people in charge of schools are the people who grew up with easy access to cell phones, will they change the rules around cell phones? Will they relax the prohibition on listening to music on your headphones during class?
Equally important, by that point, will the students care? Will we be at some future point where cell phones are old technology, and nobody cares anymore, and now the kids are all excited about their holographic projectors or whatever the latest tech is? Are the old people of each generation always doomed to be a couple of decades behind the rules surrounding new technology? I suspect the answer is yes.
