#32: Petty Parents
From everything I’ve heard from people who are teachers, dealing with parents is often the worst thing about the job. Some parents are great, I have no doubt; these are the sensible sorts of people who realize that their precious child doesn’t automatically deserve preferential treatment.
Others can be pretty awful, choosing to blame the teachers for their child’s problems. I can imagine really dreading parent-teacher conferences when you know that you’re going to tell someone that their kid never turns in their homework, and their parent is just going to claim that it’s your fault, not the kid’s.
