#29: Knowledge is Power
This next one really made me think. So often, the complaint given about school is, “When will I need to know this piece of information?” and people act like not being able to come up with an example of a time that you might need to know the name of the president of the United States in 1894 invalidates the entire concept of school.

So, I love this take on it: the chances of needing to know any given piece of information are slim, but you acquire so many pieces of information in school that you will almost certainly need at least some of them at some point. That’s a much more positive outlook as to why we had to spend so much time in school.
