#20: Into the Night Starring Rick Dees: Energy That Could Not Break Through
Rick Dees entered television with the momentum of a radio host who knew how to keep silence from lasting longer than a second. ABC’s Into the Night Starring Rick Dees (1990) moved quickly through comedy, music, interviews, and guest appearances, with Lisa Canning serving as announcer and Billy Vera & The Beaters supplying the house-band sound. The guest count was remarkable. Roughly 800 different performers, actors, comedians, athletes, and other personalities passed through the program during its run.
