Star Wars Secrets That Blew My Mind Like The Death Star

November 15, 2011 by Shelly Thomason

Einstein Eye Wisdom

Characters from Star Wars were all so lifelike, despite being a robot, a droid, or a different alien species. This is possible all thanks to the film director, Irvin Kershner, and the prop makers. Kershner specifically instructed the prop makers to give Master Yoda the eyes of a famous scientist to make it more real and lifelike.

When Stuart Freeborn, makeup supervisor, and special effects artist, heard this, he immediately drew inspiration from a portrait of Albert Einstein hanging on his office’s wall. What better way to create the facial features of a Jedi master with superior intellect and full of wisdom than to take inspiration from another great, wise, and brilliant man, the extremely intelligent Albert Einstein.
