Cal Ripken Jr. must really, really love baseball in order to hold this particular record. 2632 consecutive games over 16 years! It’s almost unfathomable. He must’ve been one hundred percent committed to the game and missed out on all sorts of fun or important things going on in his life.
What’s just as amazing is that his record hasn’t been broken since. Some achievements are just so outstanding that it takes a really long time until someone else is able to do better. Ripken Jr’s stalwart devotion to his profession really paid off for him in this instance. We salute you, Cal.
