
Our memory is often activated by particular sensory stimuli, from nostalgic smells to sights or sounds. Yet a lot of the stimuli that accompanied earlier eras may soon fade out of existence. We might be facing our last chances to hear many of the sounds that take us back to earlier times. Here are some of these sounds kids today might not even be familiar with.
#1: A Manual Typewriter
It may have been an annoying sound when it was all over the place, but the click-clack of a typewriter is definitely a symbol of the past, conjuring up images of a dingy writer’s shack, or else a crowded newspaper office. Maybe they’ll make computer keyboards that mimic the sound just to keep the nostalgia alive.
