#32: Cockroach Racing
When most people see a cockroach or even hear the word, the usual reaction is disgust. However, in Australia, they have a different approach to cockroaches. They host an annual cockroach race, held on Australia Day, which dates back to 1982. While the competition started in the Land Downunder, it has spread to other parts of the world!

The race winners aren’t the roaches but the humans who’ve released them. When the race is over, the winners don’t receive any physical awards but only titles. Today, the competition, considered a form of club gaming activity, is even held in the U.S. every four years before election day.
