This may seem like a controversial opinion, but this person has a point. Some people were awful; they didn’t deserve our kindness and respect when they were alive, and there’s no reason why they should get it after they’re gone. On the other hand, we’ve always been taught to respect the dead, so we’re conflicted on this one.
