Ladies in the 50s knew how important it was to wear gloves. You weren’t properly dressed until you donned your favorite gloves. Most women tended to purchase white gloves to display their elegance and style. The fabric usually depended on the weather in your climate, but you could find a glove for the occasion. Different times of day called for different materials. Cotton for everyday wear, satin for evening affairs, and leather with a lining for day wear in cold weather.
