The fairest version of Syndrome’s argument is not the one he actually lives by. In The Incredibles (2004), there is a kernel of a serious question inside his bitterness: why should some people be born with extraordinary gifts while everyone else simply watches? Technology could, in theory, help close that gap. But Syndrome does not truly pursue equality. He kills heroes, stages danger, hoards inventions for himself, and plans to sell power only after he has enjoyed being admired. That difference matters.
