#11: The Hyenas
The Pride Lands look golden because the story begins from the lions’ side. Beyond the border, the Elephant Graveyard is dry, dark, and full of bones. That is where the hyenas live in The Lion King (1994), and that setting changes the way their choices can be read. Scar offers them food, status, and access to a place that has kept them outside. It is not hard to see why Shenzi, Banzai, Ed, and the rest of the clan would listen.
