#16: Kool-Aid
Kool-Aid has been around since 1927, and it has been a treat for many generations of kids. Every time a kid opened the fridge and saw that Mom made a pitcher of Kool-Aid, it was fun. Sometimes, we tried making our own, but we could never get the right sugar amount. It either tasted like slightly sweet water or like you were drinking corn syrup.

The ‘70s did damage the drink’s reputation a bit due to the Jonestown Massacre of 1978, which needs no introduction. Though, some say it was actually Flavor-Aid that they drank. Blame that straw man, not the Kool-Aid Man!
