If you were a ‘70s kid, you’re lucky, as you grew up in the prime decade for snacks! Some snacks we ate stayed purely in the ‘70s, while others are still around. But they aren’t as good as they were back then. Or maybe we’re the ones who’ve changed. We’re here today to look at 25 snacks that ‘70s kids still think about all these years later. Let’s begin with an explosive classic.
#1: Pop Rocks
Pop Rocks first reached kids’ hands in 1976, and when we ate some, we could feel them popping in our mouths like we had just bit into a firecracker. This was due to the harmless carbon dioxide gas bubbles in the candy. But we thought that one day, we’d explode if we ate them wrong.

There were always whispers in the playground about Little Mikey from the Life cereal commercials exploding after drinking Coke with his Pop Rocks. It wasn’t true, but it made us avoid Coke like the plague until we were sure those Pop Rocks left our stomachs! Pop Rocks are still a product you can buy, but with the Internet, they have lost their playground rumor mystique.
