DIY Spring Onions
Spring onions are one of those ingredients that you never really think about but can make a world of difference in your homecooked meals. They add a slight hint of spice as well as some much-needed freshness in oil-heavy dishes. The only problem is that spring onions are never around when you need them.
You can overcome this problem by growing your own at home. Just fill a glass with water, place a few stalks of fresh green onions root-side down into the glass, and place the glass near a window. Use a pair of scissors to chop off the leaves, which regrow to their original length in under two weeks.
