Since 2006, Dubai’s Road Transit Authority (RTA) has been upgrading bus stops with air conditioning, transforming 636 out of 2,700 stops by 2007. Following Dubai’s lead, Abu Dhabi initiated its own project in 2009, adding climate-controlled comfort to its public transport stops.
