Use Any Card
If you’re like us, you want your hotel room to be as cold as Antarctica the moment you return to the room. But how do you keep the lights and the AC running when you need to keep your keycard in the keycard slot? Simple—use any card you have in your wallet.
The keycard reader doesn’t actually test the card; it’s just looking for something to trip a switch. We’ve also used the hotel keycard sleeve to keep the AC running while we stepped out for hours at a time. Just don’t use your credit card or debit card in place of the keycard for obvious reasons.
