Cooking can be fun, but for the most part, it’s not. This is especially true when you need to slice an onion. The moment your knife penetrates the onion’s oniony flesh, it’ll release gas into the air, which will make you bawl like a baby. However, there’s a trick you can try to overcome this problem.
Before slicing into the oven, moisten the knife’s blade. Apparently, the water droplets on the blade will capture most of the tear-jerking gas from the onion, so you won’t have to sprot ridiculous onion-slicing goggles whenever you want to make French onion soup.
