We wish the culture of tipping didn’t exist. We’d be more than willing to pay a higher price if it meant that servers could receive a livable wage. But with the way things are going now, we have no choice but to leave a tip to those who provide excellent services.
The waiter in this story definitely did. He went out of his way to entertain the OP and their grandparents. At the end of the meal, the granddad offered to pay the $60 bill. He left only $2 as a tip, which was beyond stingy. And what’s worse is that he went back to the table to get his $2 back!
