I Had a Long Day, Do It Yourself
Man, it appears that family isn’t all that important to some people. The OP’s mother fractured a disc in her spine and literally couldn’t walk upstairs to her bedroom. Her husband, who was physically fit, didn’t offer to help his loving wife because he “had a long day.” So, he left her crawling alone up the stairs like the jerk he is.
The silver lining is that this left a long-lasting impression on the OP. He learned a valuable lesson about going out of one’s way and helping others. Thanks for that, worst dad of the century. Your selfishness created a kindhearted person.
