#17: Just My Type
It absolutely blew my mind when I learned recently that a lot of schools no longer offer typing classes. I guess the reasoning is that children tend to have exposure to computers at home, so they should be learning typing on their own.

But back when computers—and before that, typewriters—were new, this was a skill that we had to learn in a class; I had to take typing and computer literacy classes from 1st through 8th grade. And it was great! My typing form is perfect because it got drilled into me for so long. I wonder if kids today are bad typists because they’re not getting formal training.
