There are a great number of things that separate the kids of today from us (the kids of yesteryear) when we were kids. One of those things is what it meant to be a student in the 20th century vs. the 21st century and the great number of rules we were subjected to. Here are some school rules that we had to abide by, but would leave today’s children shocked and confused.
#1: Dress codes prohibiting girls from wearing pants
It probably seems downright backward to today’s high school students, but it’s really not that long ago that rules like these were entirely common practice. In fact, it wasn’t even until about twenty years ago that anyone even thought to kick up a fuss about it. Despite the principle, I kind of think skirts were cooler anyway.
