Have you ever asked an employee to check the back for you? When we can’t find the size we need out at the store, we ask one of the employees to check the back to see if maybe, just maybe, it’s our lucky day, and there might be one last pair of shoes waiting for us.

We can never tell if they actually check the back – or if there even is a “back” – because they always come back empty-handed. They also never remember what you look like, so you have to stay nearby and look for them when they step out of the stock room. You have to stock them as they return from the stock room. Huh.
