#39: Not My Job
In retail and in every other type of job, if you do your job really well, you might be helping someone else slack off. If you do your job really well, you might actually be doing the work of two people. Without them asking or even knowing, if you do your job really well, that means they don’t have to work as hard because the job gets done either way.

Can you imagine what happened if people said “not my job” and everyone would just do the bare minimum, and maybe not even that? Luckily, we have people that care about doing their job well, so for every person who gives the bare minimum, there’s another person who gives the maximum – so it evens out.
