#30: Get to the Point
Sometimes, customers feel as if the store workers are their personal therapists. They might call the store or come in only to share their latest troubles with the clerks. Of course, what’s the poor store worker to do? They can’t hang up the phone or act rude towards customers, so they have to nod politely or pretend like they’re listening.
Honestly, they don’t get paid nearly enough to serve as the personal therapists for each customer or listen to their sob stories. They might be great listeners – and more importantly, they’re available, and they’ll listen to you for free – but they don’t necessarily want to hear your life story. They’ve got enough problems of their own.
