It’s annoying when people take us at our word, isn’t it? Flippant comments that were really just throwaway remarks that others take seriously. When your partner asks you what you want for your birthday and you say “I already have everything I need!” that doesn’t mean that he shouldn’t buy you a present for your birthday. You’d be amazed how many men get tripped up with that one, though.
Case in point, this plate full of paper slips, offered by a boyfriend who presumably wants to get dumped pretty sharpish. There can’t be any other explanation for this being what he serves up for tea. It looks like maybe she should dump him and phone for a takeaway.
