#37 Gaylord Perry
Gaylord Perry, a five-time MLB All-Star pitcher, debuted with the San Francisco Giants in 1962. He spent a full decade with the Giants. Over the course of his 22-year career, he played for seven different franchises. In 1972 and 1978, he was honored with the Cy Young Award.
The book he wrote about his life, ‘Me and The Spitter,’ came out in 1974. In 1991, he was recognized for his achievements and inducted into baseball’s Hall of Fame. In 2016, San Francisco unveiled a bronze statue of Perry that stood 9 feet tall. Sadly, Gaylord Perry passed away on December 1st at the age of 84.
