#30 Sacheen Littlefeather
One of the most intriguing and unsettling tales in all of Hollywood is that of Sacheen Littlefeather. Most people remember Littlefeather for her protest of Hollywood’s portrayal of Native Americans by accepting Marlon Brando’s Best Actor award on his behalf at the 1973 Oscars. She went on to become a Native American activist, actress, and filmmaker.
After her death at age 75 from cancer, her sisters were interviewed and said that they had no ancestry in any Native American tribes and that their sister Sacheen was actually Marie Louise Cruz.
