#13 Sidney Poitier
In the film industry, Sidney Poitier stood out as a major player. To Sir, with Love (1967) and Lilies of the Field (1963) are two of the most well-known films in which the revolutionary actor and director appeared. For the latter film, he won his first Oscar and made history as the first black actor and the first Bahamian to win an Academy Award for Best Actor.
In the business world and beyond, his achievements will be celebrated until the end of time. The death of the 94-year-old Poitier was a result of a combination of heart failure, Alzheimer’s disease, and cancer.
