#20: Death Wish (2018)
The original Death Wish was already politically loaded, born from 1970s urban fear and vigilante anxiety. Remaking it in 2018 required a sharper, more self-aware approach. Instead, the Bruce Willis version often felt oddly out of step, treating vigilantism with a bluntness that modern audiences were more likely to question than cheer. The result was not provocative enough to be dangerous or thoughtful enough to be relevant. Just grim, loud, and late.
