#17: The Karate Kid (2010)

This one is awkward because the 2010 Karate Kid is actually pretty good. Jackie Chan gives a moving performance, Jaden Smith is charming, and the training scenes work. But let’s address the crane-kicking elephant in the room: they are doing kung fu in China, not karate. As a spiritual remake, it works. As a title, it is basically franchise branding winning a fight against accuracy. Good movie. Weird label.
