20 Remake/Requel Fails That Proved Nostalgia Has Limits

The 1959 Ben-Hur was not just a movie; it was old-school Hollywood flexing with armies of extras, massive sets, religious grandeur, and a chariot race that still makes modern spectacle look mildly embarrassed. The 2016 remake had CGI, speed, and polish, but not the same weight. Digital scale is not the same as physical awe. Some epics need dust, bodies, danger, and absurd ambition.
