T.I. is here to lend a hand.
Rapper T.I., who has 8 million Twitter followers, noticed the video and wondered if the school had a problem with black students’ hair.
“Do not let them win!!!” he said on Twitter for women in similar situations, urging them to embrace their own beauty.
Reactions from the school
One of New Orleans’ most prominent Catholic organisations, the Archdiocese of New Orleans, issued a statement saying:
We went over it with every parent during the summer and again before the first day of school. To make sure that the rules were being observed, the management of the school collaborated with the parents of the students. It is our goal to create an environment where students and faculty alike may learn from and benefit from each other’s unique perspectives.’ There were no complaints during a parent-teacher meeting over Faith’s haircut, according to her parents.
