48. Ariana Grande, 2020
After skipping last year’s ceremony (and the one before that), sensational singer Ariana Grande made a grand entrance this year, making up for all the events she’d missed. Wearing Giambattista Valli, the singer looked like a real-life Cinderella in a tulle gown and opera gloves. She didn’t give up her signature high ponytail, which created a look that is both classic and modern, and very much appropriate for the purpose of the singer last night – marking her grand return to the red carpet.
The singer was nominated for five awards last night, including Album of the Year and Record of the Year, and although she didn’t win, her extravagant gown definitely put her on the short-list for the title of Best Dressed. Even if you don’t like her dress, you must admit it does leave an impression, and we expected to be hearing a lot more about this gown for years to come.
