#49: Pasta Salad: An American Staple
Americans are fans of making salads out of any ingredients possible. Take pasta salad, for instance. There isn’t typically an ounce of lettuce in there, but Americans love to make it to take to barbecues and whatnot. Huh? Who came up with that one, America? What are you supposed to eat it with? Can you even call it a salad when it’s mostly pasta?
Okay, we can definitely see why non-Americans find this amusing. Honestly, though, don’t knock it until you try it. Look how good it looks! Not to mention, it’s very American to take a less-than-healthy spin on a dish that’s meant to be a healthier option, like a salad. I guess the name “cold pasta” didn’t sound as appealing.
