#16: South of France?
America has many different regions, including the north, south, east coast, west coast, midwest, etc. Typically, they refer to the Southern states as “the South.” While all Americans know what that means, many foreigners find it confusing. Why is that, exactly? Let’s take a look at what this tweet says.
“South of what?” is a legitimate question because the south just refers to a general direction in most other countries. Let’s face it though; every country has different terminologies for their regions. The United States can’t be the only one. We can see how it might be on the confusing side, though.
