Have you ever wondered how standup comedians make a living? We’re not talking about people like Dave Chappelle, Kevin Hart, or Amy Schumer (though we don’t know why Amy belongs in the same category as Dave and Kevin). Standup comedians who don’t have deals with Netflix or Amazon have to make money somehow, right?

It turns out they make somewhat of a living doing standup gigs at private events. Companies will hire amateur comedians to do their thing, which, according to Kath Barbadoro, can be completely cringe. Hey, if your standup act is going to suck, make sure it sucks in a place with as few witnesses as possible.
