While shopping online, have you noticed pop-up bubbles that show how many people bought an item or looked at it? For the record, those warnings are totally fake. All they’re supposed to do is encourage you to make a purchase. If there are only five left in stock and ten people are currently looking at the item, you’ll be inclined to make up your mind on the spot.
This is highly unethical but not illegal. Lying to customers to get them to make a purchase decision by using false information shouldn’t be allowed in the world, yet here we are.
