This is something that we never knew. According to an employee at Great Clips, the hairstylists are strongly advised to spend a specific amount of time on each customer. The employees are trained to spend up to 15 minutes per head, and if they “waste” more time on one customer, they could get written up.
The fact of the matter is that hairstylists, at least at Great Clips, get paid per customer and by how quickly they work. If you think about it, it totally makes sense. That said, coming in with a crow’s nest on your head would probably ruin the day of a poor hairstylist.
