#10: I Spy with My Little Eye…
Carving four presidents’ faces into a mountain is pretty impressive when it comes to monumental achievements. But did you know that each face has a unique feature requiring extra attention to detail? The sculptors who created Mount Rushmore had to hand-carve each president’s eyes, using nothing but their eyesight as a guide. And let me tell you, that was no small feat – each eye is over 11 feet wide!
It’s a good thing they weren’t carving the Mona Lisa. But hey, at least the presidents have some killer eye contact. And who knows—maybe those hand-carved eyes are the reason Mount Rushmore attracts millions of visitors each year. Or maybe it’s just because George Washington’s nose is so impressive.
