Bubble Yum
Award-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio has always dreamed of becoming a star. At the age of fourteen, he received was he still refers to as his first acting job – a role in a series of commercials for toy company Mattel. Following this role, throughout the eighties young DiCaprio starred in commercials for Apple Jacks cereal, Kraft Foods and Bubble Yum gum.
The Bubble Yum gum commercial is perhaps his most memorable one. Of course, over three decades, seven Academy Award nominations and a dozen feature films later, no one remembers his first roles in television commercials – no one but DiCaprio himself, who sees those roles as part of his journey to fame.
