“The Crazy Target Lady” is not how you’d necessarily want to be known, but actress Maria Bamford doesn’t seem to have a problem with the unflattering name. For two consecutive winters, in 2009 and 2010, Bamford starred in a comic Target Christmas commercial, as the character of an over-excited shopper aiming to be first in line for the season sales.
Other than her memorable role in the Target Christmas commercials, Maria Bamford is an actress and a stand-up comedian. She’s famous for her voice work in a number of animated shows including CatDog, American Dad and BoJack Horseman and for winning the American Comedy Award.
