What Happened to the Nostalgic TV Commercials Stars?

August 10, 2017 by Rebecca Rand

Coppertone

Actress Jodie Foster has made her first television appearance at the age of three, as the Coppertone girl, in a TV commercial for the American nostalgic sunscreen brand Coppertone. The year was 1965, and Jodie accompanied her mother and her brother on one of his auditions, when she was discovered by the casting agents.

This popular commercial has marked the beginning of a very successful acting career. Following this role, young Jodie Foster received more roles in TV advertisement, until her teenage stardom started in 1976 when she was cast for Martin Scorsese’s Taxi Driver. Foster went on to become an A-list actress, with feature films such as The Silence of the Lambs (1991) and Panic Room (2002).
