#13: “Yes sir!” – Verne Lundquist (1986) – Jack Nicklaus Masters putt

Augusta National was buzzing in 1986 as 46-year-old Jack Nicklaus made his legendary charge during the final round of the Masters. Verne Lundquist’s call came on the 17th green as Nicklaus sank a 12-foot putt to take the lead. He didn’t scream or pile on words… Just a simple, heartfelt “Yes, sir!” that seemed to speak for golf fans everywhere. It was the kind of understated call that makes the moment bigger, not smaller, and to this day it is replayed every April when the Masters rolls around.
