Expats tell what it’s really like to live in Dubai

October 17, 2015 by Veronica Phillips

Multicultural city

Dubai’s population is mainly composed of expats, the estimated percentage of people from different nationalities residing long term in the city goes up to 85%. The biggest communities present are Indians, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Philippines and Somalis. The largest western group of expatriates is British, around 300,000 were documented to live within the city’s limits.

This is a place to be open minded, to learn from other cultures and to appreciate the beauty of diversity. Leave prejudice and bias opinions towards other nationalities at home, and embrace multinationalism. Otherwise you could be dismissed from any circle of friends, most likely all of them have diverse backgrounds. If you are visiting Dubai, take advantage of this rare opportunity and make new friends!
