Expats tell what it’s really like to live in Dubai

October 17, 2015 by Veronica Phillips

Long lunch breaks

It is common for companies in Dubai to demand 40 to 48 working hours a week from their employees. Those are long hours, therefore many of those companies give as long as three hours lunch break. If you come from the famous siesta culture, namely south and central America, then this is just for you.

If you do not take naps in the middle of the day, you may be able to use that time to spend with your loved one, or to take up a hobby.  You could walk your pet, exercise, take an online course or clean your house and do laundry. Basically the sky’s the limit, the sky and the limited time, of course.
