What’s the Most Common Medical Problem Pilots Suffer From?
Pilots have an extremely demanding job and are required to be medically fit at all times. In fact, they have to go through a rigorous medical checkup once every year as part of keeping their license current. Having said this, there is one problem that is quite common among the pilot community and that is dehydration. Although they are allowed to go to the bathroom, many try and avoid it so that they can stay in the cockpit.
Also, some flights are so hectic that they simply forget to hydrate. As a result, they drink less water which puts immense pressure on the urinary tract leading to kidney stones. Many pilots have been diagnosed with kidney stones and it seems to be one of the most common health problems among them.
