Do Pilots Explore the Places They Fly to?
The best perk about a pilot’s job has got to be the different places they get to travel to, right? Yes but whether or not pilots actually explore the places they land at depends on a couple of factors. For starters, how long are they actually there for? Depending on the duration of the flight, layovers may be between 24-30 hours. When you think about it, that’s not much time at all.
If they’ve crossed many time zones, the crew will want to get plenty of rest before making plans. They may end up getting a meal with fellow crew members, go shopping, or visiting tourist spots if it’s their first time there but usually, they don’t get a chance to explore the place at a leisurely pace.
